ARO Drilling is a joint venture of Saudi Aramco and Rowan Companies. Each partner has equal board representation to ensure a platform for long-term success and partnership.

Management Team

Mr. McHenry was appointed Chief Executive Officer of ARO Drilling upon its inception in May 2017. Prior to this time, Mr. McHenry managed Rowan Companies’ Middle East and Southeast Asia operations for 10 years, serving as Vice President of Drilling Operations for Rowan from May 2013 through May 2017, as General Manager, Middle East from October 2009 through May 2013, and as Operations Manager, Middle East from September 2007 to September 2009. Mr. McHenry also served as Rig Manager from 2004 to 2007 and has more than 27 years of experience in the drilling industry.

Mr. Al-Khardawi was appointed Chief Financial Officer of ARO Drilling upon its inception in May 2017. Prior to this time, Mr. Al-Khardawi served Saudi Aramco as Controller for Yanbu Export Refinery (Yasref), a downstream joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Sinopec. At Yasref, he was responsible for the Finance/Controllers Department. Prior to his position at Yasref, Mr. Al-Khardawi held several management positions within the Saudi Aramco Finance organization and he has more than 33 years of experience.

Mr. Fitzgerald became Managing Director of Operations for ARO Drilling in July 2017. Prior to this time, Mr. Fitzgerald served in roles of increasing responsibility at Rowan Companies since re-joining in 2014. Most recently he served as Rowan’s Vice President, Supply Chain and Information Technology from January 2017 to May 2017 and as Vice President, Supply Chain and Asset Management since August 2015. Prior to that, he served in key positions at Cameron and Joy Global. Mr. Fitzgerald also served Rowan as Vice President of Manufacturing for LeTourneau Technologies from June 2010 until May 2011, when it was sold to Joy Global.

Mr. Brown became Controller, Finance for ARO Drilling in October 2017. Prior to this time, Mr. Brown served Rowan Companies as Regional Finance Manager for the Middle East from June 2015 through October 2017. He also served Rowan as Regional Finance Manager for the North Sea region from September 2011. Mr. Brown joined Rowan as Accountant in June 2010.

Mr. Casper became Director, Supply Chain Management for ARO Drilling in October 2017. Prior to this time, Mr. Casper served as Director, Supply Chain Management for Rowan Companies from September 2012 through October 2017. He joined Rowan in July 2010 as Manager, Strategic Sourcing & Logistics.

Mr. Parmar was appointed the Director of Engineering and Marine on the 01st of June 2018. Prior to this time, Mr. Parmar served as the Superintendent of Marine overseeing the Middle East and South East Asia regions for Rowan. He comes from a diverse background of Marine Operations and Regulatory Compliance, Shipyard and New Build Projects, New Country entries etc. He holds a Bachelor of Technology’s Degree in Marine Engineering and has more than 16 years of experience in the drilling industry both offshore and onshore.

Mr. McBride became Director, HSE for ARO Drilling in October 2017, after serving in the same capacity for Rowan Companies since May 2017. Prior to this time, Mr. McBride served Rowan as Regional HSE Manager for the Middle East from October 2013 through April 2017. He also served Rowan in various roles of increasing responsibility since joining Rowan in March 2008.

Mr. Tuley became Director, Maintenance for ARO Drilling in October 2017, after serving in the same capacity for Rowan Companies since April 2017. Prior to this time, Mr. Tuley served as Rowan’s North Sea Regional Maintenance Manager since July 2015. He also served in several key positions, including Mechanical Manager, Middle East Project Manager, and Global Top Drive Manager since joining Rowan in September 2006. Mr. Tuley has more than 20 years of maintenance experience in the drilling industry.

Ms. Welsh became Director, Administration for ARO Drilling upon its inception in May 2017. Prior to this time, Ms. Welsh served Rowan Companies as Director, Global Human Resources since January 2013 and was responsible for overseeing all human resources and IT matters in Rowan’s Middle East, Southeast Asia, West Africa, North Sea and Mediterranean regions. She then joined Rowan’s Middle East operations on a full time basis in September 2016 as Director, Administration to assist with ARO Drilling start-up. Ms. Welsh joined Rowan in April 2011 as Human Resources Manager for the UK North Sea region.
